Serving Behind the Scenes: The Unsung Heroes

While the spotlight shines on the stage, there’s a group of quiet heroes working faithfully in the background—our unsung heroes.

They are the ones moving sets in the dark, adjusting props at just the right moment, and ensuring each scene flows seamlessly into the next. They are the behind-the-scenes people who get the cast on stage at the right time, make sure costumes are perfect, and on the right people!! They are the makeup people who add the perfect and authentic-looking touches to the disciples, Jesus, and other main characters. Most people will never see their faces, but their fingerprints are on every moment of the production.

It takes patience, precision, and a servant’s heart. There are no applause breaks for them, no curtain calls—but their reward is something deeper. They know they are part of sharing a powerful message. Just ask Bear or Gary, Connie or Bob about the heartbeat of Jesus in their lives after saying “All to Jesus, I surrender”.

In many ways, their role reflects the heart of the story itself—humble service, done with love.

So the next time you experience the Passion Play, remember: behind every powerful scene is someone in silence making it possible…quiet as a Lamb.
